If you are like us, you still have some Christmas present shopping to do!  With Christmas just one week away, we thought we would put out a Top 10 Safety Gift blog for all of you last minute shoppers!  This list contains items that can be purchased on Amazon and that will still arrive in time if ordered in the next day or two! Some are perfect stocking stuffers, while others will look great wrapped under the tree.  This year, show your loved ones that you care by giving them a true gift that keeps on giving….safety throughout the New Year!
Check out this video to watch CEO, Jason Perry, talk about the Top 10 Safety Gifts!  Don’t have time to watch?  We’ve described each of them below!  All these items have been bundled in one location in our Amazon Store for your shopping convenience.

  1. resqme Keychain Car Escape Tool: This is a small keychain that contains a seatbelt cutter and spring-actuated window breaker.  This simple, low-cost tool can easily fit on your keychain or secured to your seatbelt and can safe a life in a car accident if you are trapped in your vehicle.  Choose a bright color to easily locate it when disoriented from the accident!

  2. Leatherman Skeletool: This multitool provides you with 7 tools in a lightweight and easy to use system.  This item can easily be clipped on a keychain or belt loops and offers a small knife, pliers, bit driver, wire-cutters, and carabiner (and bottle opener!). Check with your workplace to see if this item complies with a ‘no-weapons’ policy!

  3. Leatherman Surge: This “big brother” to the Skeletool is a larger, sturdier multi-tool that boasts 21 different tools and is an exceptional safety item to have on hand.  Both the Surge and Skeletool can be used with one hand; an important feature if one arm or hand is trapped or non-functional.

  4. Surviveware Small First Aid Kit: This First Aid Kit is a perfect size for easy storage in your car, at your work desk, or your backpack on a hike.  This pack is conveniently water resistant and offers 100 items that be used in trauma emergencies, including the all-important tourniquet.  We love that the items are labeled within the kit and that is has almost 2,000 strong reviews on Amazon.

  5. Surviveware Large First Aid Kit: Looking to size up on your First Aid Kit?  This larger version of the Surviveware First Aid Kit is a great find.  It is also water resistant and boasts 200 basic life-saving items.  The only downside to this pack is that it does not come standard with a tourniquet, so you will need to supplement with one, such as the brand suggested next!

  6. Recon Medical GEN 4 Tourniquet: This heavy-duty tourniquet is a fantastic and essential safety item that can easily fit wherever you may need one.  We suggest having multiple and keeping them in all the likely places where you could experience a significant bleeding injury.  This tourniquet can be applied with one-hand and is simple to use.  A true life-safer!

  7. Gerber Impromptu Tactical Pen: This steel pen doubles as a writing device and life-saving tool, with its built-in window breaker and ability to be used as an improvised stabbing weapon.  With the high price-tag for a pen, it has the nice feature of refillable ink cartridges and is a great safety item to have in your work desk, purse, or car.

  8. SABRE Frontiersman Bear Spray: This spray is several steps above your average pepper spray and is designed to provide protection if attacked by a bear or other wild animal.  The canister is large but can be clipped on a belt if hiking and we also suggest having one in your car and by your front door, where it could be used as a defensive weapon against a human attacker if necessary.  With its 35-foot spray range, you can easily create distance between yourself and a would-be assailant with this product. Just check with state laws prior to purchasing to make sure that it is legal where you live.

  9. SABRE Advanced 3-In-1 Pepper Spray: The more practical and commonly used version of the above Bear Spray is this Pepper Spray combo.  What makes this product stand out is the 3-in-1 formula, which includes Maximum Strength Pepper Spray, CS Tear Gas, and UV dye.  Fun Fact of the day:  If you eat a lot of really hot (we’re talking Thai Hot) food, you may be immune to Pepper Spray!  You don’t want to risk your pepper spray not working on your assailant, so the addition of the CS Tear Gas essentially eliminates the chances that the spray will not work on them.  The UV Dye is a bonus to make the attacker glow like your Christmas Tree when Police find them.

  10. Nitecore MH20GT 1000 Lumen Flashlight: We love this light!  This is not your gimmicky, tactical ‘as seen on TV’ flashlight, which unfortunately does mean it costs more than $19.99.  This 1000 Lumen light will illuminate your surroundings, making you infinitely safer in a dark environment, such as walking to your car at night after work.  Some additional features that make this flashlight stand out are the rechargeable battery design and the strike ridge, which makes this light double as an improvised weapon if needed.
